Where is my education loan?

We are really proud that Sikkim Govt. is doing everything for flourishing its tourism and has been continuosly bagging the Best State for Tourism Award since 1998. A matter to be proud of and we whole heartedly thank the government. I am not here to criticize nor to complain but to write what i have known and in fact not satisfied with. Tourism is indeed very essential for the overall development of the state but equally important is the education sector.

Some months back I heard about the Education Loan provided by the Govt. of Sikkim to the students. With a sheer of hope and excitement I went to the SIDICO office. But came to know that the education loans for the previous years are still pending and have still not been passed. The Director assured us that the education loan would be passed as soon as the budget would come. I dont know what budget he was talking about.

He showed me there were already 600+ applicants excluding those of previous years..... I came home disheartened. Now its going to be Mid-October, time to pay another installment of college fee and still no signs of education loan. I only know how hard its for family like mine to pay the annual fees.

So, I would like to take this platform to request Sikkim Government on behalf of all the applicant to please look into the matter seriously and help many students realize their dreams.
