Punishment deserves - Misused of CMSMS by Teachers

All three teachers who had misused their post and position during the selection of Chief Minister’s Special Merit Scholarship (CMSMS) have been suspended today by the department of Human Resource and Development Department (HRDD).
The headmaster of Sadam, Suntaley Junior High School (JHS) Purna Bahadur Gurung along with bio science teacher Binod Gurung and Primary teacher Bhuwan Panday have been suspended from their respective job considering the partiality shown by selecting their own children studying in private schools for CMSMS rather than the eligible candidates.
Minister HRDD, NK Pradhan said that the step was taken by the teachers out of greed. Mr. Pradhan stated that such action will be taken against the teachers. This will itself set an example across the state where no other will even think of conducting similar action hence forth. Mr. Pradhan said that immediate action will be taken in such case on priority basis.
Speaking to the media Director, school education, HRDD, CS Rao informed that earlier on 26th of February itself the three teachers were issued show cause notice. On 23rd the students acquiring the scholarship in a foul manner were removed from the list.
Furthermore, Mr. Rao informed that an inquiry committee consisting of presenting officer along with enquiry officer will be set up immediately to take further action against the suspended teachers. Where as the teachers engaged needs to make an explanation to the Director HRDD in respect to the charges put forward by the public.

School teacher towards Enviroment

In an era when threat of global warming and pollution is creating havoc in the world, Tenzing Pelmo, a passionate environment lover who quit her job as a teacher to safeguard planet earth by creating numerous useful learning tools with her innovative style especially for the children is a living example for all the people.

The Test Environmental Service Awarded is relentless carrying for walk and education the her work and educating the younger generation to apply to phrase with the three R's "reduce, re-yse and re-cycle".

Most of her work comprised of files folder made out of tetra pack that make up milk cartoon, dictionary made by used recharge voucher, books and others reading materials for the school students made by floppy CD's, cartoon etc as a mean to educate the young children as alphabets, dictionary and vowels.

'Its very important to look after the environment and we all should protect and preserve it especially for the coming generation." says Tenzing advising the people to use their talent in the right way she says that one should make use of their ability and care for the environment.

Taking inspiration fro the teaching of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and from the insightful books.Tenzing says the books played a vital role in changing his perception towards all living being and molded her thoughts onto helping without expecting much.

She makes most of her teaching material from the milk cartoon 6960 milk cartoon are disposed every month from school with 1920 students and 260 staffs, hence this is the best way to utilize the waste since burning them is also very dangerous as it emits harmful substances. Her request to the parents, therefore is to give their children less junk food as the junk is unhealthy for the body and the cover dangerous for the environment.

State Level training for Teachers begin in SIKKIM

A month long state level training programe for the graduate teacher in science and mathematics organized by the Directorate of Technical Education Human resources in collaboration with Sikkim Manipal University began from 14th Dec 2010.

R Telang secretary HRDD, inaugurated the training programmer, which is being held at the Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology(SMIT) in Majhitar near Rangpo.Present on the occasion were Ms Jemina Pradhan, Directorate , Techical Education, DP Sharma special secretary HRDD, Dr(Bring) S N Misra PRO VC, SMU, amongst others.

Dr.Amlan Kumar das, course director, while welcoming the guest and participant highlighted the main concept of the programme.
Addressing the gathering, the chief guest, HRDD secretary thanked SMU for taking this initiative.He said that the target set by the department is to train 1000 teacher this vacation.

A total of 7000 teachers are in service in the State, out of which 652 primary, 798 graduate and 132 postgraduate teachers are untrained and unqualified.The department of HRDD has taken initiative to train the teachers.

For being B.E.(Electronic and communication,Grade ITE,ICDL(UK)MCSE, he is working as Principal, Centre for Computers and Communication Technology, Borbotey,P.O.Nandugaon Chisopani,South Sikkim since August 2005.

He has total 38 years of experience.He is imparting exemplary standards & to produce top grade technician from Sikkim and North Eastern Region.He is providing technical and managerial skills training for educated and unemployed youth in the state.His aim is at increasing access to technical education and training to disadvantaged(under privileged) sections of society.

The Looked after the World Bank assisted project in technical education implemented at two new polytechnics in the State of Sikkim,especially on the project components of capacity expansion,quality improvement and efficiency improvement.Created institutional infrastructure catering to polytechnic courses at Diploma levels with integrated industrial training to meet the requirement for skilled manpower and also cater to the need for activities related to production and R&D.Took all measures to make use of the effective extend of space utilization of the space and equipment,evaluation of the commissioning and operation of equipment purchased under the project,utilization of library books by students,staff and faculty, reduction of wastage etc.

Mr.R.G.K.Nair has been awarded with "Rashtriya Gaurav Award" by Dr.Bhishma Narain Singh(Former Governer Of Assam & Tamil Nadu) at a Seminar on Global Participation in India´s Economic Development at New Delhi on 24th May 2010.These awards are given to few of the extraordinary men and women who´ve specialized in various fields like the science and technology,education,industry,fine arts,politics and social work, in lieu of the yeoman services rendered with with excellence in their respective fields.

Mr.R.G.K.Nair was awarded the "International Gold Star Award" for individual excellence in recognition of sterling merit ,excellent performance and out-standing contribution for the progress of the nation & worldwide by H.E.Mr.Paitoon Kaewthong,Hon´ble Minister of Labour Minister of Thailand on 25th September 2010,in London(U.K.).

Mr.R.G.K.Nair was awarded "Rashtriya Vikas Ratan Award" by Economic Growth Society of India in recognition of Sterling Merit,Excellent Performance and Out-standing contribution for the progress of the nation & worldwide on 27th June 2010 at New Delhi.

Mr.R.G.K.Nair was awarded the most prestigious "Rajiv Gandhi Excellence Award" on 20 August 2010 by the India International Friendship Society for specializing in various field like the science and technology,education,industry,fine arts,politics and social work,in lieu of the yeoman services rendered with excellence in their respective fields.

Mr.R.G.K.Nair has also been selected for "Best Citizens of India Award" in recognition of your exceptional caliber and outstanding performance in your chosen area of activity.Book entitled "The Honoured Best Citizens of India" would have one page dedicated to him along with other awardees.

National Award to our Teacher

It is a matter of great honour and pride for all the Sikkim Students and Teachers that the National Award for Teacher 2009 goes to Snehalata Gurung, Graduate Teacher(Biology) and also the Vice Principal of Chakung Senior Secondary School, West Sikkim.

She was presented with this award by the President Pratibha Devisingh Patil on the eve of Teachers Day 2010 i.e. 5th September in New Delhi.
